Wagnermigl, in existence for 670 years.

Wagnermigl looks back on an impressive history spanning over 670 years, deeply rooted in tradition and craftsmanship. The house owes its name to a wainwright named Michl, who once operated a wagon-making business here. As early as 1350, the building was part of the Mitterpach estate, which belonged to the Wagnermiglbauer and was used as a clockmaker’s house. The close connection to craftsmanship is also reflected in the naming, as Michael Brandauer, the owner of the wagon-making and carpentry business, officially gave the house the name “Wagnermigl” in 1588.

Over the centuries, the house changed ownership until it came into the hands of the Seiwald family around 1770. A significant turning point in the history of Wagnermigl occurred in 1965, when rooms were first rented to guests.

– At that time, it was only two rooms –

Our house evolved into a bed and breakfast.

After an extensive renovation in 1973, Wagnermigl was transformed into a bed and breakfast, laying the foundation for its current form. Today, Wagnermigl presents itself as a lovingly run family business with 27 sustainably furnished guest rooms that combine tradition with modern comfort. With great attention to detail and care, the hotel is managed by the family, preserving the charm and historical significance of the house while meeting the needs of modern travelers. Here, history meets hospitality – and has done so for over six centuries.
