Kühschwalb
In the Kuchl district of Gasteig (just 10 minutes from the accommodation) lies the Kühschwalb nature park, a tranquil, untouched high valley. A short hike along a comfortable alpine path offers wonderful views of the Göll massif and the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal place to relax, unwind, and recharge your energy.
Das Bluntautal
The Bluntautal nature reserve is uniquely beautiful and certainly one of the most enchanting spots in the Salzburg region. Stroll along the river and marvel at the surrounding mountain scenery. The Bluntautal is a true oasis of tranquility, and the many meadows along the creek invite you to linger, explore, and enjoy. The crystal-clear water beckons you to take a step into the refreshing coolness, but since it’s a mountain stream, it can be quite chilly. However, on hot summer days, it offers a welcome respite, perfect for splashing around. The two Bluntau lakes invite you to take an extended break while peacefully watching the fish and ducks in the water.
Leonhardsweg
Thousands of kilometers of these hiking trails are also used as pilgrimage routes, including the Leonhardsweg, which leads from Salzburg Cathedral through Kuchl to Tamsweg. The Leonhardsweg is well-marked, and it takes about 5 to 6 days to reach Tamsweg, with daily stages customizable based on your time and fitness level. This path provides tranquility, relaxation, strength, and guidance. It is a trail that many people embark upon to experience special moments and encounters.
Seewaldsee
Find peace and relaxation in the enchanting landscape protection area of Seewaldsee. Nestled amidst a stunning mountain backdrop, the moor lake is surrounded by lush green meadows and is renowned for its unique flora and fauna. Hike directly from the parking area around the lake or extend your hike to Trattberg, from which you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
Gollinger Wasserfall
Visit the Gollinger Waterfall, one of the most impressive natural monuments in Austria, just a 40-minute walk from our hotel. In the Golling district of Torren (“torren” means roaring wild river in Romanesque), the Gollinger Waterfall cascades an impressive 76 meters in two tiers. You can reach it via the Weißenbach district and along a pleasant forest path that leads directly to the waterfall. A short detour to the nearby late Gothic pilgrimage church of “St. Nikolaus,” with its baroque interior, is highly recommended.
Hohe Göll
Wagnermigl guarantees you a breathtaking view of Kuchl’s landmark. Our sacred mountain, the Hohe Göll, rises over 2,000 meters above the Salzachtal! The border between Berchtesgadener Land and Tennengau runs along the summit of the Hohe Göll, which is composed of Dachstein limestone. Waking up early is worth it; you will never forget a sunrise over the Hohe Göll.
Our Tip – This hike should only be undertaken with the appropriate equipment and is recommended only for experienced mountaineers.
Lammerklamm
Experience the impressive power of water for yourself by visiting the Lammerklamm in Scheffau. The breakthrough of the Lammer is a breathtaking spectacle of light, roaring water, and shadows. Secure trails lead you deep down into the striking “Dunkle Klamm” (Dark Gorge). If you’re lucky, you might even spot brave kayakers navigating through the Lammerklamm, which is regarded as one of the most challenging gorges in Austria among kayaking enthusiasts.
